The Rev. John D. Mauney House is a Victorian Painted Lady near Charlotte, NC, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. About Kings Mountain – The Old and the New

Kings Mountain is described as a small suburban city and is the home of this Victorian Painted Lady near Charlotte in the metropolitan area, on the Carolinas’ border, just west of Gastonia in Cleveland and Gaston counties, North Carolina.

The major news for the area is the proposed $600 million Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in the works by the Catawba Indian Nation.  The next step will be final approval from the U.S. Department of the Interior that will determine whether the tribe will be able to open the proposed casino off Interstate 85. The casino would bring between 4,000 and 5,000 jobs to the area.
